FAQs
-
Initially, its founder started writing reviews of leadership and management books he found in various places such as airports, bookstores, and Amazon. As these reviews gained popularity, authors began reaching out to him requesting for his review and feedback of their books. Now, he usually reads and reviews two books each month: one on leadership and management, and another by a veteran author, which might also fall into the leadership and management category.
-
Absolutely not. Nothing about the review process is sponsored in any way. The Leader’s Review™ does not receive compensation for its reviews. In fact, authors are usually unaware that their books are being reviewed. Even when an author sends their books to the founder for review, the founder typically does not contact them until after the review is published to maintain independence, unless communication is needed in advance to clarify a point in the book or to obtain book-cover images. The Leader’s Review™ site and reviews, however, include Amazon Affiliate links to purchase books and earn a small commission on sales made through those links.
-
If you have a published book, email accounts@theleadersreview.com with your book’s title and contact details, and the founder will reach out to discuss the next steps.

This is a nuanced answer. The founder enjoys reading physical pages, making annotations, and marking up the book. In fact, his pen acts as the book’s bookmark! However, because of the number of books he reads, his preferred format is Amazon Kindle. This allows him to highlight text in different colors to capture quotes, highlights, special moments, main points, and more. It also offers search functionality, review options, and an inventory of annotations.

The founder admits he's not the fastest reader. Usually, he can finish a 200-page book in about two days if he dedicates the time; otherwise, it might take longer. Writing reviews takes several hours, and he doesn’t publish them right away. Great writers always let their work sit before finalizing it.

Simple: veterans matter. The founder is a veteran who openly shares how military service positively impacted his life. He is also an active veteran advocate, volunteering his time at two veteran-focused organizations (Civilian Ready and The Honor Foundation) and serving on the board of a third (The Catalyst). Veteran authors are usually self-published, meaning they have made a significant financial investment to showcase their work. They are often very vulnerable; while their books are full of lessons and leadership insights, they also tend to include stories that are both unique and unmatched in adversity. Supporting veteran authors is a true honor, and The Leader’s Review™ will continue to advocate for and highlight their work forever.
